Sketched this on notebook paper, then photographed it and did the rest in GIMP using a (very fiddly) mouse. Saw the alternate cover to the MLP comic with Rainbow Dash in her superhero outfit, and immediately wanted to draw something with her in it.
Though I gotta say, Dashie's outfit is a lot more impractical than Mare do Well's. If her rainbow mane and tail doesn't give her away, she still has her cutie mark exposed. And what's with the atom motif? Ah well, it still looks pretty awesome, and I guess when you're Rainbow Dash, that's really all that matters, right?

I was surprised by the atom symbol too, I would expect something like that in Twilight (Unless Rainbow Dash is actually a closeted bookworm).

You sure about that? Mare do Well made sure to cover her (Or rather, their) entire body so that there wasn't anything sticking out that would identify her.
Unless Rainbow Dash appears in that costume more often than just on that one cover? I wouldn't know, I haven't actually read the comic yet.
Anyway, glad you like the pic.
And for now it's just a thing of a limited-edition cover, I think from an specific comic book store or something; it will be for the second issue and that one is part of a story arc about the changelings that probably has no room for superheroes...
